Course Description:  Exploring Family and Consumer Science (FCS) is a one semester exploratory course that equips students with essential skills for living; including managing personal, family, and work responsibilities.

Areas of study will include:

• Kitchen Safety, Sanitation, and Hygiene
• Basic Food Preparation
• Nutrition and Wellness
• Goal Setting and Decision Making
• Coping with Conflicts
• Fashion and Interior Design
• Consumer Education and Budgeting
• Career Exploration

The course will be mainly project based, and will include opportunities for hands-on experiences in the kitchen lab, teamwork and collaboration, and both individual and small group work.
